Family Food Guide Terms and Conditions

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you create or use a Family Food Guide account or buy a membership through familyfoodguide.com. Please read them before signing up. The plan, price and renewal details shown at checkout also form part of your agreement with us.

2. Who we are

Family Food Guide is operated by Family Food Guide Ltd, company number 893882, registered in Scotland. Our registered office is 1/3, 36 Main Street, Kilsyth, Scotland, G65 0AQ. You can contact us at info@familyfoodguide.com.

3. What membership provides

A paid membership gives the account holder access to the member features shown on the website, which may include recipes, cooking videos, printable recipe materials, Favourites, the Meal Planner and Shopping List. Features may be updated as we improve the service. We will not remove a substantial paid feature without a fair reason and will explain material changes where appropriate.

4. Your account and permitted users

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity through your account. Please do not share your password publicly or allow people outside your household to use your membership. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

Three device/browser combinations

One membership account may be used on up to three device/browser combinations. For this limit, each browser on a device counts as a separate combination. For example, using Chrome and Safari on the same laptop counts as two combinations. Signing in on another browser or device may use another of the three places.

If you change or replace a device or browser and cannot sign in because the limit has been reached, contact us at info@familyfoodguide.com and we will help you restore access. Do not create extra accounts to get around the limit.

5. Membership plans, prices and payment

The plan name, features, total price, billing interval, any introductory offer, and the price after an offer ends will be shown before you place your order. Check these details carefully before paying. Payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card details.

If a membership renews automatically, the checkout page will say so and show the renewal interval and price. You authorise the payment provider to collect the displayed price at each renewal until you cancel. We will send an email reminder before renewal. Please keep your email address up to date and check the renewal amount shown in the reminder and your account. You can manage or cancel the renewal from your member profile under Settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund a payment already taken.

Ten-day annual membership offer

During the promotional period stated in the pop-up, an offer code may be used for 50% off the first 12 months of the annual membership. On the current standard annual price of £46, the first 12 months would cost £23. After that, the membership renews at the then-current standard annual price unless cancelled.

At the current standard price of £46, that is £46 per year. The code must be entered at checkout before the expiry date and time shown with the offer. The pop-up and checkout must state any eligibility limits or other conditions before the customer places an order.

We may make time-limited or partner offer codes available from time to time and will state the applicable code, eligibility, discount, expiry and renewal price with the offer. Customers are responsible for checking the website and relevant partner offer details. A code applies only when entered and accepted at checkout and is not automatically applied to an existing membership unless the offer expressly says so. Promotional or eligibility-specific discounts are separate from our standard plan price.

If we lower the published standard price for the same plan, we will ensure an existing member is charged no more than that lower standard price at their next renewal. This commitment concerns the standard plan price; it does not mean that every temporary or eligibility-specific offer code is automatically applied to every existing membership.

We will give you confirmation of your order and the main contract information by email or another format you can save.

6. Cancelling your membership and refunds

You may cancel your membership within 14 days after the day you sign up. To cancel, use the cancellation option in your account or email info@familyfoodguide.com with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. Please include the email address linked to your membership.

If you cancel within those 14 days, we will cancel your membership, end your access to member-only content and features, and refund the full amount you paid for that membership to your original payment method. We will make the refund within 14 days of receiving your cancellation request.

After the 14-day period, you can cancel at any time to stop your next renewal. Your membership will remain available until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund unused time after that, except where the law requires otherwise.

This policy does not affect any other legal rights you may have.

7. Using Family Food Guide content

Family Food Guide and its licensors own or license the original materials on the site, including our recipe wording and instructions, photographs, videos, illustrations, branding, page design and the selection or arrangement of our database. We give members a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use these materials for their own household cooking and to print materials for that private use.

Without our written permission, you must not copy, reproduce, upload, publish, distribute, sell or commercially exploit Family Food Guide's original written materials, photographs, videos, PDFs, branding or database. You must not scrape or bulk-download site content, or repost our materials on another recipe website, social media page or service. You may not use the membership or its materials to build or promote a competing recipe website or service.

These restrictions do not prevent you from cooking a recipe, using ingredients, or independently creating your own recipe. They do not remove any rights you have under copyright law.

8. Food, allergens and nutrition information

Recipes, nutrition values and other food information are general guidance and cooking inspiration, not medical or dietetic advice. Nutrition values are estimates and may vary with brands, product formulations, portion sizes, substitutions and preparation methods. Do not rely on an estimate where precise nutrition information is important for a medical reason; seek advice from a qualified health professional.

You choose and buy the ingredients used in a recipe. Product ingredients and allergen information can vary by brand and may change, so check the packaging and allergen statements of every product each time you buy and use it, including any substitute ingredients. Consider any “may contain” or cross-contamination statements. Do not use an ingredient if you are unsure whether it is safe for you or your family. If you have a food allergy or other dietary need, use your own judgement and seek advice from a qualified professional or the product manufacturer where appropriate.

Follow safe food-handling and cooking guidance. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any consumer right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

9. Changes, availability and ending access

We may update the website, fix faults or make reasonable changes to features. We will try to keep the service available, but cannot promise uninterrupted access. If we need to suspend or end a membership because of serious misuse, non-payment or security concerns, we will act fairly, explain the reason where appropriate and consider any refund required by law.

10. Consumer rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If the service is faulty or not provided as required by law, you may have remedies under consumer law.

11. Complaints and governing law

Please contact us first at info@familyfoodguide.com so we can try to resolve a complaint. These terms are governed by Scots law. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live, and mandatory consumer protections in your country continue to apply.
